Three-Alarm Fire In Texas Hotel Displaces Guests

DALLAS (December 2, 2012)—Dallas firefighters extinguished a three-alarm blaze at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Elm Street downtown that displaced hundreds of guests.

Nearly 100 fire fighters responded shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday and contained the flames, which were located in the south stairwell on the third floor.

In a statement, the fire department said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Hotel management listed 387 people staying at the hotel.

Everyone was safely evacuated, though several people were treated for what the statement called "non-life-threatening issues."

One person was taken to the hospital for further evaluation of an unspecified burn injury.

The hotel was left without power and didn’t reopen Saturday evening.

Guests were dispatched to other accommodations.
