FORT HOOD (August 5, 2012)- An 18-month old child is dead after being hit by a pickup truck just inside the gates of Fort Hood.
A media release from Fort Hood says the young boy was hit by a pickup truck at 10:05 p.m. Saturday just inside the Bernie Beck Gate.
According to the release the child was then taken to Carl R. Darnall Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
"On behalf of our Fort Hood family, I offer my sincere condolences to the family who lost their child in this tragic incident," said Col. Matthew Elledge, Fort Hood's Garrison commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with this family in their time of sorrow."
This incident is under investigation.
