HILLSBORO (October 18, 2013)--A truck tractor, semi-trailer hauling what was thought to be a load of plastic caught fire Friday morning just south of Hillsboro and clouds of thick smoke slowed northbound traffic on the Interstate.

The fire started just before 9 a.m. Friday in the trailer of the truck that was the northbound on the interstate access road.

The Hill County Sheriff's Office confirmed both Hillsboro and Abbott firefighters were battling the fire.

Clouds of thick smoke were drifting across the main lanes of the highway and northbound traffic was moving slowly.

There were no reports of injuries.
