HARKER HEIGHTS (August 21, 2012)—A fire early Tuesday morning that destroyed a Harker Heights mobile home was the second fire at the address in the past five days and authorities say they think it was the work of an arsonist.
The mobile home at 118 East Ball Road was a rental property that had been condemned and the owners were in the process of demolishing it when the first fire started on Friday, fire officials said.
The fire Tuesday, which was the deadline for demolition, was reported at around 4:40 a.m.
Fire investigators think they’ve identified a primary suspect and were working with police to obtain a warrant Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said a shed on the property caught on fire in October 2009 and said the blaze may also have been arson.
