BURNET COUNTY (May 16, 2013)--Burnet County sheriff's deputies were investigating Thursday after the discovery of two bodies inside a burning house.
Burnet County Sheriff W.T. Smith said Thursday in a news release that Spicewood Volunteer Fire Department units were sent at around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday to the home on Burnet County Road 425.
The fire scene commander quickly called for a second alarm.
After firefighters had the fire under control they discovered two bodies inside the house.
The residence is just off U.S. Highway 71, about 12 miles southeast of Marble Falls.
The news release did not say whether the bodies were those of men or women and it didn’t indicate how they might have died.
A justice of the peace was requested, but it’s not clear whether autopsies were ordered.
The release said Burnet County Sheriff's Office investigators and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
