KILLEEN (January 2, 2014) William Twist, 34, of Killeen, and Jacob H. Lugmayer, 20 of Fort Hood, were jailed Thursday, charged with arson in connection with several fires that police say were set last month at a local nightclub to destroy evidence of an earlier burglary.

They were both ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bonds.

Killeen firefighters who responded to an alarm at around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 17 at Starlite Station at 3310 South Fort Hood St. found several small fires burning, which investigators later determined had been set intentionally, police said Thursday.

The fires caused minor to moderate damage to the manager’s office and other areas of the club, police said.

Investigators say the fires were set to destroy evidence and security footage of a break-in on Dec. 3.
