MCLENNAN COUNTY (November 5, 2012)—A rollover accident Monday morning left one child trapped in an overturned vehicle.

The accident happened just before 7:45 a.m. on T.K. Parkway, a little bit north of State Highway 31.

A Department of Public Safety trooper reported that a woman and two children were in the vehicle when it overturned and one of the children was trapped after the accident.

Both children, an 11-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, were taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The woman, who is a teacher, was not injured.

The DPS said the woman lost control of her car after she swerved to miss an animal carcass in the roadway, which, he said, has been a recent problem in the area.
