Two Dead, 12 Injured After Police Chase In Texas

PREMONT (April 9, 2014) A chase that started Wednesday in San Diego after an officer attempted to stop a pickup whose plates didn’t match motor vehicle records ended in a crash that left at least two dead and 12 others injured.

The fleeing driver lost control of the pickup truck in Premont along a stretch of rural highway.

The dead and injured were all riding in the truck.

Some victims were flown by helicopter to area hospitals while others were later found hiding in nearby brush.

The crash occurred about 85 miles north of the border with Mexico and is a route police say is used by human traffickers to move immigrants who are in the country illegally.
