Two Die In Weekend Plane Crash In Texas

ROANOKE (September 24, 2012)--Federal authorities confirmed Monday that two people died in a weekend plane crash north of Fort Worth.

The National Transportation Safety Board said the small plane crashed during takeoff Saturday afternoon from Northwest Regional Airport in Roanoke.

Both the pilot and a single passenger died.

Local authorities identified the victims as pilot Charlie Yates and passenger Christopher Pratt.

The two men were flying in a Piper PA-28 R-180 plane.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
