Two Die When Boats Collide On Texas River

JASPER (May 26, 2014) A man and a woman died when two boats collided along a bend of the Angelina River in Jasper County, not far from the Louisiana line.

The two were in one of the boats that collided Saturday afternoon.

A man who was in the second boat was injured.

He was taken to hospital.

Three children also were in the second boat but none was hurt.

The names of the victims weren’t immediately released.

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision, but there was no immediate word if speed was.

Game wardens say several other minor boating accidents were reported in the region Saturday and Sunday.
