EMHOUSE (May 12, 2013)--Two people drowned and a 2-year-old was seriously hurt after a 14-foot aluminum boat capsized in a stock pond in Navarro County, authorities said.
The two drowning victims, both adults, were from the Dallas area, Navarro County Justice of the Peace Connie Hickman said.
Their names weren’t immediately released.
They drowned evidently while searching for the 2-year-old who was among four children thrown into the water early Saturday evening when the boat turned over, Hickman said.
The other three children escaped injury.
The injured child was flown to a hospital in Dallas.
Navarrol County Sheriff Elmer Tanner says one body was found after about an hour of searching the pond near Emhouse.
Authorities needed a dragging operation to find the second victim’s body.
