Two Earthquakes Shake North Texas

WAXAHACHIE (February 25, 2013)--Two minor earthquakes caused small tremors, but no reported damage in North Texas over the weekend.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that one earthquake struck at 4:35 a.m. Sunday about four miles north of Waxahachie, south of Dallas with a magnitude of 2.4.

The second struck at 6:56 a.m., two miles south of nearby DeSoto with a magnitude of 2.5.

A quake of magnitude 2.5 to 3 is typically the smallest that can be felt by people.
