Two Injured When Car Hits Texas School Bus

HOUSTON (February 15, 2013)—Two people were taken to a hospital Friday after a car hit a school bus in an intersection in Houston.

Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said the driver of the car was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after the accident Friday morning.

Houston school district spokeswoman Denisse Cantu says one of the three students aboard the bus was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other two students were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and released.

The bus driver was not injured.

Silva said the driver of the school bus was preparing to make a left turn when the car, which witnesses said was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit the left side of the bus.
