Escaped Texas Jail Inmates Are Still On The Run

SULPHUR SPRINGS (April 3, 2013)—Brian Allen Tucker and John Marlin King, who escaped Tuesday from the Hopkins County Jail, remained at large Wednesday after a rainy night on the run.

The air and ground search for the two inmates that ended late Tuesday night resumed at dawn Wednesday as more rain fell in the area.

The inmates escaped from the jail in Sulphur Springs by scaling a fence or slipping through a gap in a perimeter fence Tuesday morning.

Tucker, of Sulphur Springs, was awaiting trial in the 2011 slaying of Bobby Riley of Mahoney who was strangled in his home from which some music instruments and firearms were stolen.

King, of Cumby, pleaded guilty last month to drug possession as a habitual offender and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Meanwhile Wednesday in Dallas, authorities were searching for an inmate charged with burglary who escaped from the Dallas County Jail while taking out some trash.

Donald Greenlee, 38, escaped from the Lew Sterrett Justice Center early Wednesday by jumping a fence topped with razor wire.

Records show the inmate from Midlothian was in custody related to burglary charges dating back to 1997.

He was later recaptured.
