Two Men Charged In Deaths Of 2 Young Texas Girls

CORPUS CHRISTI (March 1, 2014) Brendon Gaytan, 26, and Cruz Salazar, 22, were in the Nueces County Jail Saturday in lieu of $2 million bonds, charged in the shooting deaths of two young girls who were killed during a family birthday party.

Police arrested the two men early Friday.

They’re charged in the deaths of 6-year-old Nevaeh Oliva and 2-year-old LillyAnna Valent who were struck by bullets fired into a house on Feb. 16 while their family celebrated the first birthday of LillyAnna’s brother.

The shots were fired just as party-goers were about to cut the birthday cake, family members said.

Several bullets struck the two girls.
