Two Texas Teens Die In Crash Near Grand Canyon

TUBA CITY, Ariz. (September 3, 2012)--Two teenagers from Texas died in a weekend crash on an Indian reservation near the Grand Canyon, the Arizona Highway Patrol said.

Authorities identified the victims as Robert Whitefield Henson, 18, and Bryce Carrigan, 14, both from Midland.

The Midland Classical Academy students were in a sports utility vehicle with an adult driver and three other passengers when the vehicle left the road and rolled repeatedly Saturday.

The SUV was westbound on State Route 264, which crosses the Navajo and Hopi reservations about 40 miles southeast of the Grand Canyon.

A school athletic director, Andy Zinkgraf, told the Midland Reporter-Telegram that the students were on their way to Zion National Park in southern Utah.
