GODLEY (February 2, 2012)—A man and a woman have been found slain in a home in rural North Texas.

Johnson County Sheriff's Lt. Tim Jones said the deaths of Duane
Arland Benson, 62, and his wife, Breanda Scheets Benson, 61, are being investigated as homicides.

Authorities did not provide any information about possible suspects.

Deputies making a welfare check Wednesday afternoon discovered the bodies of the victims.

Lt. Tim Jones says deputies entered the home near Godley, about 25 miles southwest of Fort Worth, after not being able to reach anyone inside.

The sheriff's office, in a statement, described the case as "tragic" and asked anyone with information to contact the law enforcement agency.
