U.S. Marshals Were Nearby When Driver Fired Gun In Local Neighborhood

WACO (December 3, 2012)-One man was quickly arrested Wednesday afternoon thanks to U.S. marshals, who were in the area working on an unrelated investigation when a shot was fired after an argument between two drivers in a Waco residential neighborhood .

Police say David Allen Coleman, 50, was arrested at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday after U.S. Marshals stopped him in the 3100 block of Sanger Avenue.

Coleman was listed Thursday on the McLennan County Jail Log where he was ordered held pending discharging a firearm charges.

It wasn't clear at what or at whom the shot was fired, police said.

When the man who fired spotted the marshals, he threw the gun out of the window of his vehicle.

The marshals took Coleman into custody and requested backup from Waco police.

The 29-year-old driver of the other vehicle said he didn't know the man whom authorities arrested.

Sanger Avenue was closed to traffic between North 32nd and North 33rd while marshals and police investigated.
