GULF SHORES, Ala. (March 22, 2014) A hit-and-run accident claimed the life of an Oklahoma State University sophomore from Texas who was visiting Alabama's Gulf Coast on a spring break trip, police said.
Kasey Waychoff, 19, of Flower Mound, died early Friday morning after a vehicle struck her as she walked in a bicycle lane in Gulf Shores, Ala., police said.
Waychoff was struck as she walked with some of her sorority sisters at around 1:45 a.m. along West Beach Boulevard, police said.
A Baldwin County sheriff's deputy later stopped a motorist based on a description of the vehicle involved in the hit and run.
No charges have been filed, police said, and an investigation continues.
