Witness Saw Car Speed Off After Shots Were Fired At Area Church

TOURS (February 6, 2013)—McLennan County sheriff’s investigators have found a witness who saw a car speed off immediately after someone opened fire on St. Martin’s Church in Tours, causing thousands of dollars in damages.

Investigator Jason Davis said many residents in the area of the church off of Heritage Parkway between Waco and West said they heard the gunfire at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Ten bullets struck the church, damaging an 80-year-old statue, stained glass windows and interior walls, causing at least $8,000 in damage.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Davis directly at (254) 757-5122.
