Pickup Truck Crashes Into Home, Driver Flees

WACO (November 20, 2013) Waco police were investigating early Wednesday morning after a pick up truck crashed into the side of a house and left a gaping hole, then fled the scene.

Officers were called at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday to a house in the 2900 block of Wooded Acres Drive where they found a brick house with a large hole in one wall.

The pick up truck that struck the house was nowhere to be found.

A woman and her daughter were inside the house when the crash happened but neither one was injured, officers said.

The crash destroyed a washer, a dryer, and a toilet inside the home and water was flowing throughout the house for some time before it could be shut off.

Neighbors reported to police at the scene that they saw a dark colored pick up truck in the area at about the time the crash happened.

About 30 minutes later, police were called to a second scene on Lake Shore Drive.

The scene was about a mile away from the home.

When they got there, they found bricks from the house in the middle of the road, along with some beer cans they believe fell from the truck.

Police think alcohol could have been a factor in the crash.

They're still looking for a suspect.
