WACO (March 23, 2014) Police in Waco and surrounding cities were working multiple accidents along Interstate 35 Sunday evening.
Reports from TxDOT showed a multiple vehicle accident happened near mile marker 338 that had caused some of the main lanes to be shut down.
Traffic was being diverted at exit 338A northbound for the accident.
Another wreck was being worked near Hewitt.
Hewitt police said they'd cleared a single-vehicle accident by 6:30 p.m. after a car lost control on the slick road and hit a sign while it was traveling southbound on Interstate 35.
No injuries were reported in that accident.
A third wreck was being worked by police when an 18-wheeler jackknifed heading southbound at mile marker 322.
No other cars were involved and no injuries were reported but traffic was delayed.
Officers said wet roads were to blame and the truck was inspected and allowed to leave shortlly after.
Officers also said they wrote several citations to people driving across medians to avoid backed up traffic.
That citation can cost drivers up to $206.
Police also said a fourth wreck was worked in Lorena but no details were released.
