WACO (January 12, 2013)—Two families are homeless after a fire broke out in the Trentwood apartment complex.

According to officials, a fire broke out just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the complex off of Dallas Circle.

When crews arrived on scene, flames could be scene coming out of the windows of an upstairs apartment.

Crews evacuated the building and were able to quickly put the fire out.

The residents of the upstairs apartment, a family of four, were not home at the time of the fire.

A bedroom in their apartment was heavily burned and the rest of the apartment suffered smoke damage.

The apartment below was damaged by water used to put the fire out, displacing another family of four.

No one was injured.

The Red Cross is working to help both families.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
