Wanted Man Eludes Local Police; Officer Injured In The Chase


Authorities continued to search Friday for a wanted man who managed to elude police in a foot chase during which a local officer was injured.

CAMERON (February 14, 2014) Cameron police continued to search Friday for a man who ran as officers attempted to serve state and local arrest warrants Thursday.

Bobby Joe Blaylock, 35, of Cameron, was able to elude police in a lengthy foot chase during which police Officer Randy Rodriguez was injured when he became tangled in a barbed wire fence, authorities said Friday.

Rodriguez was treated at Little River Healthcare.

Blaylock is named in a criminal non-support warrant and in Cameron city warrants, authorities said.

He’s now also charged with evading arrest and detention, police said.
