Rusty Garrett here with the weekend outlook:
Blustery and cooler both days with highs Saturday in the low 60s after morning lows in the mid and upper 30s! A bit milder in the lower 70s for highs on Sunday.
WACO (May 27, 2014) A water main break sent water over a portion of West Waco Drive Tuesday, slowing lunch hour traffic.
The break occurred late Tuesday morning in the 600 block of North 8th Street.
Westbound traffic on Waco Drive was reduced to one lane between North 6th and North 8th Streets while a crew searched for a valve to shut off the water flow.
Most of the water from the break was flowing into a field and draining into a creek, but some covered the street.
The break occurred in either a 12-inch or 16-inch pipe.
The city hasn't received any reports of loss of water service, but Waco Water-Utilities spokesman Jonathan Echols said lower water pressure is possible temporarily in South Waco.
