SLIDELL (February 18, 2014) The First Baptist Church of Slidell in North Texas has a message of forgiveness for the burglars who broke in and stole about $40,000 worth of property.
A sign posted outside the church says, "To Those Who Robbed Us, We Forgive You."
Pastor Bobby Cates says he believes there are desperate people no matter where you live, including Slidell, a town of about 175 about 50 miles north of Fort Worth.
Last Friday Cates found his church office ransacked and discovered that a laptop computer, other electronics and a sound system were missing.
A church van was stolen, but was later recovered.
Nobody has been arrested.
The church has insurance to cover part of the losses.
