BELTON (October 27, 2013) The weekend storm flooded a creek, littered some road with debris, and closed a popular park.
Yettie Polk Park in Belton is now closed after heavy rain is dumped on parts of Central Texas.
According to the city, the park suffered significant tree damage during a Saturday's storm.
At least half of the trees were uprooted or had broken limbs.
The park will be closed about a week, until cleanup and repairs are made.
City work crews also removed debris from roadways overnight.
The rain flooded Nolan Creek and caused a temporary shutdown the Interstate 35 frontage roads at Central Avenue Sunday morning.
Tomorrow, the city says, crews will continue their cleanup.
