FLORENCE (February 7, 2012)-A Fort Hood soldier died Saturday and three women were injured in a single-vehicle auto accident in Florence.
Spc. Joshua Winn, 21, of Shreveport, La., was pronounced dead at the scene on Farm-to-Market Road 970 at the intersection of Williamson County Road 252.
Department of Public Safety trooper Joseph Stuart said Winn was a passenger in a 2008 Nissan driven by Ida Marie Fruster, 26, of Killeen.
Fruster was taken to Round Rock Hospital by ambulance where she was treated and later released.
Ashley N. Shelton, 28, also of Killeen was listed in serious condition at Round Rock Hospital on Tuesday recovering from a head injury.
Kendra Mosha Hall, 24, of Fort Hood and also a soldier, was taken to Round Rock Hospital with neck and back injuries, but information about her condition wasn’t available.
Stuart's report said the Nissan was eastbound on FM 970 when the driver lost control and the car left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Winn was not wearing a seat belt but the other occupants were.
Winn joined the Army in July 2009 and had been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop Support Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, since January 2010.
He deployed to Iraq from August 2010 to August 2011.
