Widowed Texas Police Officer On Leave After Violent Rap

Print

DALLAS (November 28, 2012)--Dallas police Lt. Regina Smith, whose husband died in the line of duty in 2009, was on administrative leave Wednesday after doing a rap song in which she threatened to shoot anyone who messes with her.

The Big Rush In LLC website includes a photo of Smith’s late husband, Sr. Cpl. Norman Smith, dubbed the "Big Russian," who died in 2009 in the line of duty.

WFAA-TV reports a video on the website showed Regina Smith under the name of "Lucille Baller" pulling a gun.

The Dallas Morning News reported the recording was removed Tuesday after media inquiries and after Smith informed her supervisors.

Assistant Chief Randy Blankenbaker says the matter is under review.

Smith didn't immediately comment Wednesday.

Charles Payne was convicted of killing Norman Smith and received life in prison.
