WACO (July 15, 2014) Dana Lynn Goodnature, 39, was in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday charged in connection with the theft of medical supplies and equipment from the emergency room at Providence Health Center in Waco.

She was ordered held in lieu of $2,000 bond, charged with theft of more than $50, but less than $1,500, according to online jail records.

Goodnature, another woman, and the woman’s 12-year-old daughter went to the emergency room Monday night because of an undisclosed medical issue and were assigned to a treatment room, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Tuesday.

Hospital security officers were summoned at around 10:40 p.m. Monday after a staff doctor reported that he witnessed the theft of medical equipment and supplies from cabinets in a treatment room.

Security officers detained Goodnature until Waco officers arrived.

The other woman fled, leaving her 12-year-old daughter behind, Swanton said.

She was in the care of Child Protective Services Tuesday.

The theft involved such things as gauze pads, tongue depressors, denatured alcohol and sterilized water, Swanton said.
