Woman Charged After Undercover Officer’s Picture Posted On Facebook

DALLAS (October 14, 2012)—Melissa Walthall has been charged with retaliation after the picture of an undercover police officer was posted on Facebook.

Mesquite police say Walthall posted the picture because the officer testified against her friend in a drug case.

A federal affidavit says her Facebook post identified the person as an undercover cop and says the post posed a threat to that officer's safety.

Walthall’s friend, George Pickens, later told police he was upset about the officer’s testimony, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Court documents say his brother Bobby Stedham used the photo to make fliers, and the two men planned to display the signs.

Police say they found them while searching Pickens' Dallas-area house.

Stedham has been charged with retaliation, and Pickens faces federal drug and weapons charges.
