Woman crashes into power pole near Morrow Street and 18th in Waco.

WACO (September 9, 2012)— A Waco neighborhood was without electricity for a while Sunday night after a woman crashed her SUV into a power pole.

Waco police said the woman was driving down North 18th Street when she lost control of her vehicle and spun 180 degrees, hitting a power line down the block.

The power line, near Morrow Street, broke. Oncor crews expected the problem to be fixed within an hour.

Police said the driver was a woman in her 30s. They said she was belligerent to officers when they arrived on the scene and she refused medical treatment from medical personnel.

The woman was forcibly transported to Hillcrest Medical Center where she will be given a mandatory blood test and evaluation.

No one else was hurt in the accident.
