GOODLETT (March 13, 2013)—Sarah Elizabeth Hopkins, 21, of Crandall, died early Wednesday in an accident on a North Texas highway in which two vehicles hit the same cow.
The Department of Public Safety says the wreck happened before dawn Wednesday on U.S. 287 near Goodlett, just east of the Childress County and Hardeman County line.
Hopkins was a passenger in an SUV that struck the cow, the DPS said.
She got out of the SUV and was standing along the roadway when a second vehicle also hit the cow and then struck her, the DPS said.
Hawthorne said neither driver was injured.
The cow was killed.
