Woman Dies In Crash On Rural Central Texas Highway

MARQUEZ (April 26, 2013)-0A Livingston woman died Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash just east of Marquez.

Betty Hill Boatwright, 71, of Livingston, died just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday when the 2010 Ford she was driving collided with a 2003 pickup truck on State Highway 7, about a mile and a half miles east of Marquez, the Department of Public Safety said Friday

The DPS trooper who investigated the accident said the Ford was westbound on Hwy. 7 and the pickup truck was eastbound, driven by Derrick Lee Pinard, of Willis.

Pinard was not injured in the crash.

Leon County Justice of the Peace Doug Preston pronounced Boatwright dead at the scene.

He did not order an autopsy.

Boatwright’s body was taken to Walters Funeral Home, in Centerville, where arrangements were pending on Friday.

The report indicates Boatwright was wearing a seat belt.
