HOUSTON (August 25, 2013)--A Saudi woman who was on a commercial flight to Houston from Qatar for medical treatment died en route to Texas, officials said.
Fatimah M. Alsiari, 49, a Saudi Arabian citizen, died on a nonstop Qatar Airways flight from Doha, Qatar, officials said.
The plane landed at around 4:30 p.m. Friday at George Bush International Airport, Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said.
A physician aboard the plane tended to Alsiari, but could not help her.
It was not known whether the doctor was accompanying her, however.
Information about the condition for which the woman was seeking treatment or to which hospital in the Texas Medical Center she was to be admitted wasn’t available.
Silva said Alsiari evidently died of natural causes, but an autopsy was ordered.
