BELLMEAD (December 21, 2012)- A woman hit by a truck Friday in front of La Vega High School was pronounced dead by a justice of the peace.
The accident happened on the 500 block of Loop 340 around 7 p.m. Friday.
Bellmead Police identified the woman as Laurie Beyersdofer of Bellmead.
She was unconscious and not breathing when first responders arrived on the scene and was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck told police he was traveling south east on Loop 340 when the woman walked out into traffic and was struck by his vehicle.
The man immediately pulled over after hitting the woman and called 911.
Police did not give the man a ticket at the time of the accident, which is still under investigation.
