WACO (June 18, 2014) Waco Police detectives are now looking for a man who scammed a local woman out of $6,000 while she was shopping at a Walmart.

According to Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton, earlier this month a man approached a woman while she was shopping and said he had just found some rare diamonds where he worked and wanted to sell them to her.

The woman said she was interested and went to her bank to pull out $6,000 for the exchange.

But Swanton says when she met up with the man for the trade; he didn’t have any diamonds with him.

Swanton says the woman gave the man her money when he assured her he would leave and return with the diamonds, however that never happened.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Waco Crime Stoppers at (254) 753-HELP.
