Woman Pulled From Texas River Dies Of Injuries

NEW BRAUNFELS (August 7, 2014) Kathryn Walker, 26, who was injured last Saturday when she jumped from an elevated platform into a part of the Comal River where tubing is popular, died early Thursday, New Braunfels police said.

An autopsy was ordered.

Walker was on the river Saturday when she attempted a back flip into the water to cheers from onlookers, but she failed to surface.

She was submerged for about 10 minutes in water as deep as eight feet deep before another swimmer found her.

She was flown to a San Antonio hospital.

Police warned swimmers against jumping into the river without knowing what's under the surface.
