WACO (October 1, 2012)—Police were searching Monday in downtown Waco for a man who a woman says robbed her as she was walking to the office of a motel to pay her rent.

The robbery was reported just before 11 a.m. Monday at the Oak Lodge Motor Inn at 1024 Austin Ave.

The motel’s manager didn’t see the robbery, but said the woman ran into the office and told him she’d just been robbed.

The robber escaped on foot with $500 in cash, she said.

She said he was black, in his 20s and was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

No one was hurt.
