COPPERAS COVE (February 9, 2012)—A woman who had to be cut from the wreckage after her car struck a highway median and rolled Thursday morning was taken to a local hospital.

The accident happened at around 9 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 190 near Clark Road just outside of Copperas Cove.

Firefighters cut the roof off the vehicle in order to free the woman from the wreckage.

She was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Hospital.

Her name and details about her injuries weren’t immediately available.

She was alone in the vehicle, authorities said.

Two eastbound lanes were closed to traffic after the crash.
