KILLEEN (February 8, 2012)--A woman was flown to a local hospital Thursday night after the car in which she was riding slammed into the rear end of an 18-wheeler.

Just after 9 p.m. Thursday, the Toyota Camry was eastbound on U.S. 190 near the Trimmier Road exit in Killeen when it rear-ended the 18-wheeler, which was merging into eastbound traffic.

A helicopter landed on the highway and took a woman to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The woman's name was not released Thursday night and it was not clear how badly she was injured.
