Work Set To Begin On I-35E Expansion Project

FORT WORTH (January 2, 2012)—Work should begin by midyear on a three-and-a-half-year project to expand Interstate 35E between Dallas and Denton

Officials say motorists can expect to encounter construction on I-35E between LBJ Freeway in the Dallas area and the I-35E/35W split in Denton until the work is completed in 2016.

The project is centered in Dallas and Denton counties.

AGL Constructors was selected for the roughly $1 billion project, which includes adding a free lane in each direction, reversible toll lanes and improved frontage roads.
