HOUSTON (July 22, 2012)—Authorities were looking for two men Sunday in the death of a young Houston minister who was killed in a carjacking.
The two men approached Desmond Jones, 21, early Saturday in an apartment complex parking lot, shot him and took his car.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the married father of two had just returned from a fast-food restaurant at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
The stolen car is a silver 2012 Chrysler 300 sedan.
Jones was pronounced dead he was flown to a local hospital.
Bishop James Dixon II, chairman of the Harris County Council for a Safer County, called for a prayer vigil in the parking lot where Jones was shot.
He said Jones was a well-known musician and minister in the area.
