WACO (September 13, 2011)—A federal grand jury Tuesday in Waco returned a five-count indictment naming Jeffrey Brent Heckman, 25, Jacob Thomas Norris, 23, and Alexia Quentasha Baker, 23, in connection with bank holdups in Columbia, Mo. and in Temple.
Authorities in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, arrested the three on Sept. 5 and the next day the suspects were deported to the U.S.
They all remain in federal custody in Houston, awaiting transfer to Waco.
They’re each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery and Norris is charged with two counts and Baker with one count of accessory after the fact.
The indictment alleges that the three conspired to rob a bank on July 8 in Columbia, Mo. and the Texell Credit Union at 3314 South 31st St. in Temple on July 11.
It also alleges that Norris and Baker rented hotel rooms in Georgetown, San Antonio and Laredo and purchased $3,500 in money cards and clothing to facilitate an escape to Mexico, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
A week after the robbery in Temple, the FBI announced it was looking for the three, who were believed to be traveling with two Boston terriers in a 2006 Buick Rendezvous SUV.
