A message from Superintendent, Dr. Joe Burns:
As we begin school on Monday, I want to thank you for the concerns you have expressed, the advice you have shared and your willingness to volunteer to ensure a safe environment for our students. You have been wonderful. This week will begin with significant changes for all of the campuses in CCISD. These changes are being implemented to ensure the safety of the students we serve and the staff we employ.
In order to create the safest environment possible, CCISD has partnered with Copperas Cove police and fire departments as well as staff from Fort Hood. As a result of these partnerships, school will be conducted very differently this upcoming week.
We are asking that once your student arrives at school, he/she immediately enter the building. Please do not allow your student to bring any non-school related items to the campus. In order to ensure a safe environment, the campuses will not be allowing any guests into the campuses this week. If you need anything at the campus, you must enter at the main office and they will assist you.
I thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding as we address the critically important issue of campus safety. Should you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your respective campus principal.
