Jeremy Lowery, (24), of Hill County, was arrested just after 4:00 am this morning, 10/13/2008, after he broke into his ex-girlfriends home, stabbed her mother and her mothers boyfriend.

Officers responded to 3900 Watt, at 3:57am, after a report of a burglary in progress and the burglar was attacking those inside the residence. When Officers arrived they found Rebecca Leonard, (52) of 3900 Watt had been stabbed along with her boyfriend Jerry Patterson, (67). Also in the residence at the time of the attack was Yolanda Leonard, (34).

Yolanda Leonard told officers that she was awakened and found her ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Lowery, standing in her bedroom. Yolanda started screaming and that’s when her mother, Rebecca Leonard came into the bedroom. Jeremy turned his attention toward Rebecca and started stabbing her. Jerry Patterson, hearing the commotion came into the bedroom and was also attacked. Lowery after having stabbed Rebecca and Jerry ran from the scene. Jerry Patterson was able to get to a neighbor’s house and ask them to call for help. Officers were given a description of Lowery and he was located at 42nd and Waco Dr where he was arrested without incident.

Unfortunately Rebecca Leonard died from her injuries at the scene. Mr. Patterson was taken to Hillcrest Hospital where was immediately taken to surgery and is expected to survive.
