(April 25,2013)--May Day, A Benefit Concert for the victims and emergency services of the West disaster is scheduled for Wednesday May 1st at Speegleville’s Hog Creek Ice House.
Headlining the event is Texas Music star Pat Green along with ten other area bands.
Admission is free. Cash donations and gift cards are accepted with all proceeds going to West. Music begins at 5pm and ends at midnight. There will be a Silent Auction, food and drink vendors.
Hog Creek Ice House is located on Highway 6 West in Speegleville near Highway 185.
Local businessman and music fan Brady Bauer, along with other area business people, put together the event on very short notice. “Basically we wanted to get a well-known star, find a venue and begin promoting it within a 24 hour period. We were very fortunate that Pat Green was available and Hog Creek stepped up to help us out”, according to Bauer.
In addition to Pat Green, the lineup includes Chris Low and JC Pringle, Rushin Steele, I See Dragons, Cody Lawson, Matt Begley and others.
According to Bauer, the event was made possible by other musicians and interested partners such as Wayne Redding, Kevin Merritt, Justin Lewis and Chance Avery.
