I recently enrolled in The Bi-Weekly Advantage Plan with CitiMortgage. The plan drafts out my mortgage payments automatically every two weeks instead of me making the entire payment once a month. I enrolled in the plan because it boasts of saving the consumer thousands of dollars in interest. I assumed that the payments were drafted from my account and then immediately applied to my loan; however, this is not the case. The payments are drafted from my account every two weeks along with a .75 transaction fee for each draft. Instead of making the payments immediatly, CitiMortgage holds the money in a custodial account then ends up making a single payment on my loan once per month 7 days after the payment was due! So, CitiMortgage gets to use my money to make itself interest while it holds the money just to end up paying the payment once a month (the same as I was doing before enrolling in the plan). Plus, the payment is made LATE. On top of all this, CitiMorgage charges a non-refundable $375 ennrollment fee. There is absolutely no service provided in The Bi-Weekly Advantage Plan. It completely takes advantage of the consumer, and ends up being very costly. I just want to warn others about this - it is NOT to your advantage to sign up.

The Biweekly plan has a been a pain from day one. If you want to cut some money off the principal just pay a extra hundred every month. Thats the only way to roll. STAY AWAY FROM CITIBANK.
By the way, the bimonthly fee program is currently $3 per payment, the fee is charged even for CITI bank accounts
I should correct my post from about an hour ago. You save only marginally more by adding the principal yourself every month. Of course the advantage of that is that it's optional on a monthly basis, whereas the biweekly advantage plan is not.
