(Press Release)

WACO, Texas – In recognition of Father’s Day Weekend this year, the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative (CTFI) will have a Father-Son Field Day & Cookout at the Baylor University Football Stadium in Waco.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 14th from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and is open to local fathers and boys ages 5 and up.

The event will cost $5 per person, and is scheduled to include fun games and free play on the football field, age-appropriate drills led by Baylor football players, and a cookout lunch.

“The purpose behind this event is simply to raise awareness about the unique and irreplaceable contributions that involved, committed, and responsible fathers make to the lives of children and families,” stated CTFI Executive Director Steve Durand. “Dads need to know that every moment they spend with their children is valuable, and that not only do our kids need us as fathers, but we need them as well.”

In response to the earlier comment, over the past 3 years the organization has also conducted annual events such as a Father-Daughter Tea (for girls ages 3-7) and a Father-Daughter Ball (for girls ages 8-18).
