Temple PD Schedules Kiddo-Card Event Save Email Print

(Press Release)

On Saturday July 19, 2008 from 9am- 1pm, the Temple Police Department will be hosting a Kiddo-Card event in the PD Lobby, 209 E. Ave A. The Kiddo-Card is FREE and available to any child ages 3-15.

The Kiddo-Card contains descriptive information about your child to include a photo. The Police Department requests that parents maintain possession of the card and are able to provide it to first responders in the event that their child is missing or has been abducted. First responders are then able to distribute the information contained on the Kiddo-Card quickly to searchers.

In these situations, Parents are emotionally; mentally and physically stressed and sometimes find it difficult to provide very basic information about their child.

These cards help parents communicate vital information to officers and put the information into the hands of the searchers as quickly as possible.

About the comment by Dee in Belton, some people would be hysterical in this situation. Of course, they know what their child looks like. Try being totally bonkers and then describing yours. Get the point?

'Difficult to provide very basic information about their child'? Who doesn't know what their own kid looks like?
